Fish farming topped beef production in 2012, says the
Environmental think tank Earth Policy Institute.
It estimates fish farming yields at 66 million tonnes and,
for the first time, more than beef at 63 million tonnes.
The Earth Policy Institute says this year fish farming may
surpass fish caught in the wild.
The volume of fish caught in the wild has plateaued in
recent years, beef production has been in decline since the 1980s and fish
farming has been gaining.
