Mischa Popoff, a professional critic of the organic
movement, says a proposal to force labeling of genetically-modified foods would
blindside the organic farming movement.
The proposal would set a standard for GMO content in organic
products and that, says Popoff, will take a lot of organic products off the
market in the United States.
While there are tolerance limits for pesticide residues,
there are no tolerance limits for GMO content now, he says in an article for
The Daily Caller, an internet newspaper.
Popoff predicts there will be lawsuits if the GMO labeling
proposals become law.
He has been critical of the organic movement for taking a
strong stance against GMOs.
