Glacier Publications has
announced the launch of an Ontario agriculture newspaper to be published every
second week.
John Greig, who is a former
senior editorial staff member at competitor Ontario Farmer, will be in charge
of the new venture.
“We see a bright future for Ontario agriculture and
we’re proud to announce Farmtario will be part of it,” Glacier FarmMedia
president Bob Willcox said in a release.
“While many farmers still like to read a farm
newspaper, we also know online sources are increasingly popular and in fact,
necessary for staying up to date in this rapidly changing world,” Greig said
Wednesday.
Glacier FarmMedia’s operations across Canada include
brands such as the Western Producer, AgDealer, Country Guide, Grainews,
Canadian Cattlemen, le Bulletin des Agriculteurs and Canada’s Outdoor Farm
Show.
