A migrant farm worker who believed he had recovered from COVID-19 died suddenly this week, reports the Windsor-Essex Health Unit.
“The person was doing fine, was resolved of all their symptoms and died suddenly,” said Dr. Wajid Ahmed. “People in their 30s don’t just die suddenly. We know that there is some evidence in terms of the clotting disorder that could happen after COVID-19 and if this could be one of the contributing causes.”
Dr. Ahmed said they want to know more about what led to the man’s death.
Because of the death, the health unit is also doing more in-person visits with the temporary foreign workers who have tested positive and are self-isolating.
