Cows die of electrocution

Seventy cows died and many others were injured when high winds last Thursday knocked down a hydro pole that landed on a dairy barn near Sand Lake, Michigan.

The storm cut off electricity for about 150,000 people and ripped the roof from a school in Muskegon County, which is in the western part of the state.

Dairy farmer Tim Butler said at least 70 cows died at his farm.

Dozens survived, but “a lot of them are hurt bad.”
