There still is no trial date for Arlan Galbraith, the self-styled Pigeon King, after another court date in Kitchener today. The case was adjourned - again - to Feb. 22.
Galbraith faces one count of fraud and four charges for violations of the Bankruptcy Act.
When he put Pigeon King International inc. of Waterloo into bankruptcy in June, 2008, he stranded hundreds of investors with no market for the offspring of the breeding pairs of pigeons they purchased from Galbraith. They held long-term contracts at lucrative prices to market offspring to Pigeon King.
Officials in Iowa were the first to declare the business a Ponzi scheme, but hundreds more investors signed up after that initial warning.
