the researchers also found that these bacteria could still be controlled with
antimicrobials available to treat humans.
The study
results were released this week by the European Food Safety Authority.
It also
reported that resistance to a combined group of antimicrobials remains low.
While this
means that treatment options for serious infections with these zoonotic
bacteria are available in most cases, the fact that antimicrobial resistance
was commonly detected is cause for concern, the authors say.
