Ontario goes four months without PED

Ontario has gone almost four months without a new outbreak of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea (PED) virus.

The last two were July 2 and 14 in Lambton County and July 8 in Oxford County.

All three of those were farrow-to-finish operations.

The virus is able to survive longer in cold weather, so the real challenge will be to keep it out this winter.
