The Chicken Farmers of Ontario marketing board is
undertaking initiatives to attract more women into leadership positions,
especially as zone directors and committee members.
“The CFO Women in Leadership
campaign aims to recognize the importance of gender diversity in the chicken
business and encourages engagement in the responsible leadership and governance
of CFO,” says the board on its website this week.
“Encouraging diversity as an active
element of the CFO good governance process is paramount to our success going
forward,” says board chairman Henry Zantingh.
“Our governance team needs to be
reflective of the diverse communities in which we serve.”
Rob Dougans, the board’s chief executive
officer, says “We recognize the importance of having gender diverse
representation at all levels of corporate governance.
“The Board is focused on the future and
continually committed to new and robust solutions towards achieving excellence
and driving our industry forward,” he said.
Why Doug's is commenting on behalf of the board of directors puzzles me.
