The Canadian Meat Council has appointed Christopher White to immediately
be its new president and chief executive officer.
He takes over from Jim Laws.
“I am delighted to welcome Chris
White to the Canadian Meat Council,” said council chairman Troy Warren.
“Chris will draw on his more than 20
years of successful experience in top-tier political, public, and private
sector roles in the development of a new vision and strategic plan that will
focus our organization on becoming a best in class trade association,” he said.
White has served as chief of
staff for five federal cabinet ministers and vice-president of government
relations in the finance, insurance, and auto sectors.
The council has about 400 members
from the meat-processing industry.
