China has cancelled registration for Richardson International Ltd. so it can no longer deliver canola.
Reuters news agency said it isn’t immediately clear why Richardson’s exports into China, the world’s top importer of canola, had been halted. Officials at China’s General Administration of Customs didn’t respond to requests for comment.
Reuters said it might be linked to Canada’s arrest and extradition hearings for a senior executive of Huawei Technologies Ltd. The U.S. wants to put her on trial for marketing company technologies to Iran.
Reuters reported that “a note beside the entry for Richardson International in the latest (customs department) document says, “Canola export registration already cancelled”.
