The federal government has said it has no concerns about Parmalat’s $1.62-billion purchase of three cheese brands from Kraft Heinz.
The three natural cheese brands are Cracker Barrel, aMOOza! and P’tit Quebec. The deal is for the Canadian market.
The Bureau of Competition Policy issued a “no action letter” recently on the deal the companies struck in November.
Parmalat’ sells Beatrice, Lactantia, Astro and Balderson brand dairy products. It is a subsidiary of a global company based in Milan, Italy.
