Bugaria has confirmed two cases of African swine fever among backyard pigs in the village of Zhernov.
That’s near Pleven in the northern part of the country, next to Romania.
All pigs in Zhernov will be culled and a three-kilometre quarantine zone will be established around the village, the government said.
Bulgaria had an outbreak last August and in February the highly-contagious and deadly disease was identified in a wild boar.
