U.S. threatens tariffs on European cheese

The United States lists cheese, olives and coffee as products it might target with retaliatory tariffs.

It stems from a complaint the U.S. filed with the World Trade Organization about aircaft subsidies.

If the Europeans are deemed guilty of violating WTO trade standards, the U.S. would ask permission to apply tariffs to punish Europe.
