A Maple Leaf Foods company in the United States, Greenleaf Foods, is expanding sales of its new plant-based line of meat alternatives into 12,000 more retail stores, including Kroger, Publix and Target.
Kroger is the largest supermarket chain in the U.S.
Greenleaf’s Lightlife lineup is already in Acme, Albertsons, Fresh Thyme, Haggen, Jewel, Pavilions, Safeway, Sprouts, Stop & Shop, Vons and Wegmans stores.
Adding Target, Kroger and Publix doubles its distribution of the new Lightlife line, which includes Burger, Ground, Italian Sausage and Bratwurst Sausage products. They will be sold in the stores’ meat aisles.
“Lightlife has four decades of history in plant-based foods. We’re thrilled to take our years of expertise and innovation to more shoppers across America,” said Dan Curtin, chief executive officer for Greenleaf Foods.
The company said these products are made without GMOs (genetically-modified organisms), gluten, soy and artificial flavours.
