Lianne Rood, a first-time MP for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex and who worked for former federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz, has been named agriculture critic by the new Conservative party leader, Erin O’Toole.
She takes over from John Barlow of Alberta.
Rood won Lambton-Kent-Middlesex after Bev Shipley retired; Rood also worked as an assistant to Shipley.
She certainly ought to know a lot about Canadian agriculture and politics. What remains to be seen is whether she's a good politician.
