“The rationale for a Huron Perth Ag Science Centre is that it will be unique in southwestern Ontario by not duplicating existing cultural resources,” said a feasibility report that was funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The project is expected to cost approximately $13.8-million dollars.
The study recommends the municipality own the site, but that a non-profit organization run the centre.
It would feature science, how food gets from farms to tables, farm safety, environmental agriculture, indigenous agriculture, art and careers.
Listowel Agricultural Society will be involved.
