Schmidt departs Nutrien

Mayo Schmidt is gone as chief executive officer or Nutrien Ltd. only eight months after he stepped into the role from chairman of Nutrien’s board.

He is the second chief executive to suddenly leave Nutrien’s top job in a cloud of secrecy in less than one year.

Nutrien is the world’s biggest potash producer and after purchasing Agrium, also its biggest fertilizer retailer.
