Avian influenza has broken out at a commercial poultry farm
in Zorra Township.
The Ontario poultry industry command centre issued an
advisory to all poultry owners, including those with small backyard flocks, to
be on heightened biosecurity because of the threat.
At the same time, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency
reported outbreaks in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
They are among the first cases that coincide with the fall
bird migration.
