Glenn Black, an outspoken critic of the Chicken Farmers of
Ontario marketing board, is questioning the industry’s pricing of feed.
He notes that dog and cat food prices have increased by 20
per cent since 2002, but chicken-feed prices by 60 per cent.
He questions whether the 38 feed mills in Ontario are in
collusion on pricing.
He says chicken farmers won’t care because they can pass
increased costs on to consumers via their cost-of-production marketing-board
pricing for chicken.
