A bad weed that started in the southern United States is
spreading north, showing up recently in Michigan.
Weed specialists started warning about Palmer amaranth five
years ago when it was in Arkansas.
It’s aggressive and appears to be resistant to glyphosate
(Roundup and Liberty).
It’s so aggressive that it can overwhelm a crop such as
soybeans.
It zoomed from Arkansas in 2010 to Illinois, Indiana and
Michigan last year.
