A farrowing barn in the Waterloo Region has come down with
Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea virus on Dec. 23.
On Dec. 17, a Waterloo finishing barn had an outbreak.
They are the 68th and 69th outbreaks
in Ontario this year.
The epidemic started in Ontario in January and it’s likely
that it came in a feed ingredient – blood plasma – imported from the United
States.
