Canada starts lifting poultry bans

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has begun lifting import bans on U.S. poultry and products containing poultry, such as pet food.

The bans were put in place when avian influenza broke out, and they were implemented state by state.
This week the CFIA lifted bans on Arkansas and Montana.

Even though the U.S. has said the disease has been cleared out of other states, Canada is retaining its bans for California, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington and Wisconsin.
