The owners were busy on the long weekend trying to round up
the released mink from the ranch on Jones Baseline in Guelph-Eramosa Township.
The township is east of Guelph; Rockwood hosts the municipal
offices.
The Animal Liberation Front claimed responsibility for 1,600
mink released from a ranch near St. Mary’s in May. Many of the new-born kits
died.
No organization has claimed responsibility for 6,800 mink
released in July from a ranch near St. Mary’s.
The Canada Mink Breeders Association is offering a reward of
$100,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the vandals.
