Flour recall from Waterloo Region stores

The nation-wide flour recall has been expanded by the Canadian Food Inspection to include two Robin Hood all-purpose flours sold in two Waterloo Region stores.

Country Pantry Foods of Heidelberg is recalling the flour it sold from Jan. 5 to Feb. 10 this year.

Country Bulk on Weber Street North, Waterloo, is recalling the flour it sold between Jan. 19 and April 21.

Hours later, the CFIA expanded the recall yet again to include Robin Hood flour marketed mainly to hotels, restaurants and institutions.

The flour might be contaminated with E. coli 0121.

There have been many CFIA recalls, beginning March 28, for flour-related contamination with E. coli 0121, including recalls of tart and pie shells.

Many of the recalls trace to Ardent Mills, a U.S. company that owns a number of Canadian flour mills.
