Lawyer to head federal tribunal

Luc BĂ©langer has been appointed to a five-year term as chairman of the federal agriculture department’s appeal tribunal.

He has been a lawyer with the Department of Justice Canada.

From 2005 to 2011, he led the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada legal services team in litigation against tobacco manufacturers.

He worked on a number of projects to apply electronic data management to legal situations.


The Canada Agricultural Review Tribunal is open to people who feel they have been unfairly dealt with by the department of agriculture.
