Elora
has been chosen for Canada’s newest and biggest beef research
centre worth $15.5 million.
The
Ontario government is contributing $12.4 million and the federal
agriculture department and beef farmers the rest.
It
will open in about 18 months, replacing buildings that opened in
1969.
It
will bring together University of Guelph researchers from a variety
of disciplines and will also serve as a student training centre.
