Turkey agency gets money from feds

The federal government is giving almost $240,000 to the Turkey Farmers of Canada national supply-management marketing agency to assist producers in meeting animal welfare, biosecurity and food safety standards.





The agency will get $98,235 to conduct the final government recognition stages of its On-Farm Food Safety Program and $141,200 amend its Flock Care Program for animal welfare.


It's yet another subsidy for quota holders, putting the lie to their frequent boast that they don't get any subsidies.
