Veldhuizen appointed to research council

Elvert Veldhuizen of Woodstock has been appointed to a three-year term on the Agricultural Research Council of Ontario.

The council advises the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs on research policies and priorities, mainly affecting the ministry’s spending for research at the University of Guelph.

Marcus Haerle of St. Isidore has been appointed to a three-year term on the Grain Financial Protection Board. It’s plan and policies are administered by AgriCorp.

Larry Witzel of Tavistock has been re-appointed to a three-year term on the Livestock Protection Board whose administration has recently been taken over by AgriCorp. Laurie Nicol of Guelph was also re-appointed for three years.

Ian K. Russel of Toronto has been appointed to a one-year term as chairman of the Livestock Medicines Advisory Committee.

Gregory Bedecarrats of Eden Mills, Jeff Richardson of St Marys and Rita Ricciati of Puslinch have been also been appointed to one-year terms on the Livestock Medicines Advisory Committee.
