The Chicken Farmers of Ontario marketing board has received approval from the national agency to increase production by 2.9 per cent in May and June and by 2.8 per cent in July and August from last year’s levels.
The board said ithe market has grown for six years and “the long-term growth projection for chicken remains healthy and positive – chicken is expected to remain the meat protein of choice and to continue growing at a moderate pace - even as alternate proteins grow in popularity. “
