Brantford surprised COVID-19 migrants moved in

Brantford mayor Kevin Davis says he was surprised to learn that 119 migrant workers who have tested positive for COVID-19 have been moved into hotels in his city.

He said it’s one thing for them to be in a sparsely-populated rural area and another to be in the center of a city.

He said neither his city nor Brant County were consulted about the move.

By Monday evening, Scotlyn Farms said it had 165 migrant workers who tested positive. It’s the large-scale vegetable farm that moved workers into hotels in Brantford so they could be isolated until they recover.

Scotlyn Farms is in Haldimand-Norfolk.
