Chobani, which took North American yogourt markets by storm when it launched Greek yogourt in 2008, is pondering a move to become a public company.
If it does, its shares might reach a total value of about $7 billion, according to market analysts in the United States.
The company began in upper New York State, once had plans to expand into Ontario but pulled out when it ran into marketing board obstacles and built a $450 million US plant in Idaho instead.
Now it is expanding into oat milk and research and development of other plant-protein dairy products.
