The farm now has two methane digesters, one that produces enough methane to generate 250 kilowatts of energy for the farm and a second one recently completed to market gas to Enbridge.
The second one uses both on-farm waste and imported materials.
Rural Green Energy of Guelph and Stonecrest Engineering of Shakespeare were involved in planning and building the facility.
Stonecrest engineer Nicholas Hendry will be speaking about the Stanton Bros. operation during Dairy Days at the Outdoor Farm Show Sept. 21 and 22.
