CP Rail workers vote to strike

Teamster Union members who work for CP Rail have given their contract negotiators a 96.7 per cent vote in favour of strike action if a deal cannot be reached.

The federal government has appointed a mediator to help the negotiations.

The union said the main issues are wages, benefits and pensions.

In the past, the federal government has intervened to end strikes by railway workers.
