Compass Group USA of North Carolina has filed a lawsuit against major pork-packing companies, accusing them of price-fixing.
It also named Agri Stats Inc. which provides information to the packers.
The lawsuit is similar to others, some of which have been settled by some packers for millions of dollars.
The lawsuit names Clemens, Hormel Foods Corp., JBS USA, Seaboard Foods, Smithfield Foods Inc., Triumph Foods and Tyson Foods Inc. claiming they illegally conspired to manipulate the price of pork since 2008.
Nobody has admitted doing anything wrong in the lawsuits that have been settled through negotiations.
