Breakfast on the farm has new approach

The Breakfast on the Farm program organized by Farm and Food Care Ontario has a new wrinkle this year – a week-long event at the Paris fairgrounds.

Visitors will be greeted in their cars with a bag full of breakfast goodies, and then they can browse the grounds to learn about farming.

The breakfast goodies include pancake mix, eggs, maple syrup, milk, butter, cheese and vegetables.

“Since 2013, farm families across Ontario have opened their farms to host Breakfast from the Farm events. These popular events have attracted thousands of urban and suburban visitors to local farms across the province,” Farm and Food Care Ontario said.

It staged three drive-through events in 2021 that met all COVID-19 safety guidelines. But this year’s event in Paris—the first of three throughout Ontario—will be walkable with displays, livestock, and farmers on site to answer guest’s questions.
