The first woman to receive a pig organ, and the second known living recipient to receive a gene-edited pig kidney, has died.
Lisa Pisano, of New Jersey, received a pig kidney transplant but 47 days later it was removed and then she died.
The pig kidney was damaged by her heart medication.
The medical team at New York University’s Lagone Health centre said she was initially doing well.
