No foods, ag products on Canada’s tariff list

There are no foods or agricultural commodities in the Canadian list of $30 billion worth of United States products that will be hit in the first counter-punch to United States President Donald Trumps’ 25 per cent tariffs on Canadian-made steel and aluminum.

Iron, aluminum, stainless steel and products containing those metals are on the Canadian list that will face a 25 per cent tariff.

Hand tools, including garden tools such as shovels, are on the list.

The full list is on the internet under the Finance Department at Canada.ca .

Outgoing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said there is another list of more than four times as many products which will be hit if Trump continues to wage a tariff war on Canada.
