Canadian food
exporters, especially cheese exporters, face an uncertain future with
sales to the United Kingdom following its vote to pull out of the
European Union.
All hopes of
increasing exports to the United Kingdom as a result of the free
trade agreement Canada reached last year with the European Union are
also now in question.
There will no doubt
be tough negotiations with the Brits to maintain Canadian exports. It
has always been Canada’s chief agriculture market in Europe.
