Canadian
High Commissioner Janice Charette told
the Globe and Mail that British and Canadian offcials
have been meeting for months to discuss trade relations after Brexit.
That
will surely include Canadian efforts to secure its cheese markets and
probably some relaxation of the restrictions on GMO crops.
Charette
also said
Canadian trade experts have even offered their British counterparts
advice on how to negotiate a deal with the EU and others.
The
terms of trade with Europe need to be settled before the United
Kingdom will be in a position to finalize terms with Canada and
others.
