Deere &
Company has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Blue River Technology of
California.
The company’s
technology joins computer vision and learning technology so sprayers hit only
the field spots where there are weeds.
It saves
farmers money, reduces pesticide volumes and is therefore beneficial to the
environment and beneficial for pollinating insects.
Deere said it
will invest $305 million to fully acquire Blue River Technology, which is based
in Sunnyvale, California. The companies have been in discussion about their
business relationship since October, 2016.
