Farmers fear China trade war

United States farmers fear that their president is about to trigger a trade war that will cost them markets in China.

The Chinese have named pork and apples as two commodities they will hit with tariffs in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s call for $50 billion worth of tariffs against Chinese products.

Trump has asked Americans to tell him which Chinese products they want to tax.

The Chinese have been quick to respond and to not only name U.S. products they will tax, but also to accuse the U.S. of violating international trade laws.

Meanwhile, Trump says his negotiators are close to reaching a new trade agreement with South Korea.
