Olymel L.P. has bought Pinty's Delicious Foods Inc. which has slaughter and meat-processing plants at Port Colborne, Paris and Oakville.
It’s main products are poultry.
It has 360 employees working Pinty's Food Service, Pinty's Pub & Grill, Pinty's Eat Well, Pinty's Perfect Portions and Pinty's Delicious Food Inc.
They are sold across Canada and into the United States.
Olymel said the acquisition is part of an effort to consolidate its position as the leader of the pork and poultry slaughtering and processing sector in Canada.
Olymel owns seven poultry slaughtering and processing establishments, in Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick marketing under Olymel, Flamingo, Lafleur and Galco brand names.
It is Canada’s third-largest hog producer and pork processor. Co-op Federee du Quebec, Canada’s largest cooperative, is its biggest shareholder.
