Another egg-industry appeal by the Van Aert family of Lucan and Watford has been adjourned.
The Van Aert family is awaiting a decision on an appeal against the Egg Farmers of Ontario marketing board that was heard in Guelph in December.
In that case, the family objected to a new pullet policy that sharply increased quota rental rates.
It’s not clear what the new appeal is about and the first notice that there was an appeal underway appeared Thursday on the website for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Appeal Tribunal.
That notice indicates that the public hearing was scheduled to begin Monday, Jan. 13.
The notice lists the appellants as SWB Poultry Farms Ltd., Samantha Bloeman of Lucan; TVA Farms Ltd., Theodore (Theo) Van Aert, Sim Farms Ltd., Diane Van Aert, Simon Van Aert and Luke Van Aert of Watford.
