The Grand River Conservation Authority is offering a
trees workshop at its head office at 400 Clyde Road in Cambridge on Saturday, March
7.
It will help property owners of more than 2.5 acres to
develop skills and strategies to maintain and improve their trees.
There will be advice about planting, about invasive
species, hazard trees, forest health and information about grant opportunities
and supporting wildlife habitat.
The workshop includes lunch and, weather permitting, a
walk though a hardwood forest.
Those who own more than five acres may be eligible for
funding for tree planting or wetland creation projects. Priority is given to
areas directly adjacent to watercourses.
