Fraudster makes $244 million with ghost cattle

Cody Allen Easterday, 49, has admitted cheating Tyson Foods out of $244 million for non-existant cattle.

Easterday, who lives in Mesa, Washington State, contracted with Tyson Foods to raise cattle and between 2016 and 2020 got away with never raising or delivering any cattle.

In December, Tyson reported “misappropriation of company funds” by one of its suppliers and corrected the financial results for its beef segment for fiscal years 2017 through 2020.

He has yet to be sentenced.
