Phoenicia Group Inc. of Quebec is recalling Al-Rabih brand Halva / Halawa – Plain / Traditional because it might be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria that causes food poisoning.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency identified the risk when it was testing as a follow-up to previous recalls of two Tahini products.
It said there have been no reports of human illness related to this product.
