Maple Leaf sales increase

Maple Leaf Foods reports its meat sales increased by 7.6 per cent to more than a billion for the first quarter and plant protein sales increased by 5.2 per cent to almost $45 million.

In the news release the company e-mailed me, it failed to mention that profits plunged by 71 per cent to $13 million. 

I call that dissembling - misleading by telling truth, but not all that's relevant.

The board approved a two-cent increase in dividends to 20 cents per share.
