A commercial poultry flock within the Waterloo Region has contracted highly-pathogenic avian influenza.
The flock will be depopulated, the owners face an onerous task to clean and disinfect the building and equipment and neighbours have to put up with a 10-kilometre quarantine zone that controls all traffic in and out of poultry farms and facilities.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency did not specify the exact location or owners of the farm.
