Andrea Brocklebank will become chief executive officer of the Canadian Cattle Association in early March.
Dennis Laycraft has retired and Tracy Herbert will serve in the interim.
Brocklebank moves up from executive director for the Beef Cattle Research Council.
She joined the Canadian Cattle Association in 2004 and has overseen funding collected via the Canadian Beef Cattle Check-off and the Verified Beef Production Plus program.
She has a masters degree in economics from the University of Saskatchewan and was raised on a farm in Alberta.
President Tyler Fulton said an executive recruitment firm conducted an extensive recruitment process and CCA’s directors accepted its recommendation.
